kechukwu Uche is a God fearing Nigerian, married
with two kids, one is just a week old. Who is after
this sweet-mannered Youngman and why? After Nigeria
community election in August 2004, Mr Uche and other
officials of Nigeria Community were invited by the
Foreign Affairs Police through one of their Nigerian
agents. According to a memo which Okechukwu Uche
sent to Beijing to complain of harassment by men of
Chinese Immigration Office at Jiefanang Lu
Guangzhou, namely Mr. Zhang and Xu, Mr Okechukwu
Uche narrated...
Mr Okechukwu Uche elected President of Nigeria
Community Aug 2004, recently a corrupt
rivalry group has been fighting him.
"Some of the issues we raised were the visa
problem which Nigerians are having and the FIVE
THOUSAND YUAN (RMB5000:00) which they are collecting
from Nigerians who are in detention for over-stay.
We told them that since we are looking for a
solution for some of the problems, that it will be
unfair to arrest Nigerians, detain them, demand that
we purchase their tickets and still ask us to pay a
fine of five thousand Yuan on each of them. At the
end of the meeting it was agreed that they will stop
collecting that fine. The meeting ended with
gladness on our faces, because we do not want to
leave any Nigerian in detention s we are still
working hard on the cases of over-stay which
is the major offence by Nigerians here."
